This examination is given to fulfill the vacant posts of Non-Gazated First Class (Technical), Computer Operator. This is an assistant level post and the staff needs to handle following tasks:

Handle E-Mail correspondence

Type, store and print the letters, reports and any other kinds of official documents.

Perform calculations, develop spreadsheets, large tabular forms like salary sheets, budget sheets, action plans etc.

Develop presentations on different seminars and meetings

Maintain computer and smooth operation of day to day tasks and so on
The examination is conducted in three different parts, namely, Written Examination, Practical Examination and Interview. The time and question weight on each part is as follows

Only a candidate, who successfully completes the written exam, will be given the practical examination and interview. Practical and Interview will be on same day. You should pass the written exam and practical examination separately. Only for those who pass the practical examination, the total of all three phases will be published according to the score.
Written Exam
There will be total 50 questions each carrying 1 marks. One mark is awarded for each correct answer and 0.20 marks is reduced for each wrong answer. You need to attempt all these questions within 45 minutes. The number of questions on different section of the curriculum is as follows:
- Computer Fundamental: 12 questions
- Operating System: 6 questions
- Word Processing : 8 questions
- Electronic Spreadsheet: 8 questions
- Database System: 8 questions
- Presentation System: 5 questions
- Web Page Design: 3 questions
Practical Exam
There will be total 7 questions of 50 marks that you need to complete within 45 minutes. The time and marks distribution of different sections of practical examination is as follows:
Topic: English Typing
Marks: 5
Content: A text of 225 words is given to type. Be careful the uppercase, lowercase and punctuation –comma, semicolon, full stop – should be typed correctly. 5 marks is award for 40 or more correct word per minute. Similarly, 4 marks for 32 to 40 correct words/minute, 3 marks for 24 to 32, 2 marks for 16 to 32, 1 marks for 8 to 16 and 0 marks is awarded for less than 8 correct words per minute. Correct words per minute is calculated as (total typed words – wrong words)/5
Topic: Devanagari (Nepali) Typing
Marks: 5
Content: A text of 200 words is given to type. 5 marks is awarded for 35 or more correct words/minute. Similarly, 4 marks for 28 to 35 correct words/minute, 3 marks for 21 to 28, 2 marks for 14 to 21, 1 marks for 7 to 14 and 0 marks is awarded for less than 7 correct words per minute. Correct words per minute is calculated as (total typed words – wrong words)/5.
